Ecuador’s president Guillermo Lasso, looking as if he’s about to be impeached for embezzlement, has dissolved the congress in attempt to prevent his ouster. It’s an interesting move that will no doubt result in even more friction within the country.
Whether he’s guilty or not, the whole situation brings to mind another judgment. Hebrews 9:27 tells us, “And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” We will all be judged by God: those who have trusted Him as Savior at the Judgment Seat of Christ to receive the reward for their service to Christ, and those who don’t know Him to the Great White Throne Judgment, in which they will be eternally condemned.
There will be no final dissolution at this judgment. The correct verdict will be cast. Let us pray that God will send laborers to Ecuador and all parts of Latin America so that they may enter heaven and escape the condemnation of the damned.
