Drugs in Ecuador
Just recently in the news, there was a shipment of over 1,300 pounds of cocaine that was seized from a ship from Ecuador going to Turkey. Although, Ecuador is not a significant producer of drugs like Colombia or some other South America countries. It is often used as a place to ship the drugs from. It is easier to export from because it is not as large a producer of narcotics.
There is only a small amount of drugs grown or produced in Ecuador, but the amount of drug bust have been on the rise in recent years.
Growers in Colombia will hire drug gangs to smuggle the drugs to a port city in Ecuador and then ship them out. It is sad for me to see that Ecuador is exporting drugs that will harm and destroy lives. However, I am excited to be getting there soon to take them the Gospel that will change and help their lives! We will be leaving for the mission field in 114 days, and I would like to ask you to pray that the rest of our support would come in quickly.
