As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, the Bioceanic Highway presents a unique opportunity for economic, social, and even spiritual growth across 4 countries in Latin America. This massive 2,200-kilometer road will connect the Atlantic and Pacific coasts and run through Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Paraguay. There are high hopes that this highway will become a new type of Panama Canal and speed up the movement of goods and services, save money, and connect people. Many welcome and worry about the new highway, especially in landlocked Paraguay, where almost 1/4 of the road is currently being built. Either way, an international route like this could increase commercial activity and population in the towns and villages that line the Bioceanic.

As four countries in Latin America ready themselves to build and link sections of this grand highway together, we, too, must be prepared to seize the opportunity to send church planters and missionaries out to an increasingly connected world. Pray with us that the Bioceanic won’t only make the movement of goods and people easier but also allow the gospel to spread throughout Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Paraguay.
