The Dance with the Devil
Every year in the city of Pillaro there is a week-long celebration called the Diablada de Pillaro. Over 30,000 visitors come and dance in the streets of the Andean town wearing masks of demons and devils. Starting on January 1st of every year this thousand-year-old tradition carries on. Thousands of people gather and dance on the streets with their masks and disguises
Although many people are just doing this out of tradition, it is sad to see that they would have a festival honoring Demons and Devils. It is unfortunate to see and shows the darkness in their lives. The Bible talks about this and how the Devil is blinding the eyes of the people. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4
I pray that they would soon hear the Gospel of Christ. The Bible tells us that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. The Gospel can work in their lives and change them. I hope that we can get to the country of Ecuador quickly so that they can hear the good news of Jesus and can start worshiping and praising Him instead of the Devil.
