Haiti’s New Prime Minister
Haiti has a new prime minister. Ariel Henry was recently sworn in 2 weeks after Haiti’s previous president was murdered in his home. At a ceremony in Port-au-Prince, the new prime minister called for unity and said, “One of my priority tasks will be to reassure the people that we will do everything to restore order and security.” Henry has a tremendous task ahead of him as Haiti has recently been mired in coups, political instability, widespread gang violence, and now a presidential assassination.
